Here is the permanent Angel City FC crest

No more placeholders for the 2022 NWSL expansion side.

We’re still several months out from Angel City FC taking the field in the NWSL for the first time, but we’ve been waiting several months for the 2022 expansion team to drop their permanent crest and colors, and on Wednesday, that big day finally came.

The crest has to be considered the most attractive in North American soccer, using colors and imagery that feel both familiar and unique. It has a sort of art-deco style that is similar to Los Angeles FC’s crest, but different enough as to not be at all confused.

The colors for the team will be a combination not seen before in the NWSL, highlighted by colors of the Los Angeles brilliant sunsets of pink, along with black and gray, to give a bit of a glamour/grit or wild/subdued contrast. I imagine the upcoming jerseys will be quite popular among fans and kit nerds if these are the base colors.

The team will officially hit the field in those inaugural kits in the spring, with home games to be played at Banc of California Stadium. Expect to see the announcement of the club’s first head coach before long, and we’ll keep you posted on additional news along the way.
