Orange County SC will be back in action on Saturday, as they hit the road again, this time to take on Sacramento Republic, in a rematch of the teams’ game just two weeks ago in Irvine.
OCSC stumbled after that win over Sac Republic, losing a shootout 4-3 last week against LA Galaxy II. The team is still just three games into the season, so it’s too early to really panic, but a victory here would sure mean a lot in what is proving to be perhaps an even tougher Pacific Division than expected.
Sacramento are on short rest for this game, having played on Wednesday against Oakland Roots, a wild 3-3 draw. Sacramento are winless in three and are pretty eager for a win, too, and given how tight the last match was between these teams, I think this is going to be another tense encounter.
So, we’re still early in the season, but this is another big game for both teams. Can Orange County make it two wins in two tries against Sac Republic? That’s the hope for Braeden Cloutier’s team on Saturday.
Tale of the Tape:
Orange County SC: 3 points (1-2-0), 6th place in Pacific Division; Goal Difference: -1; Last three games: L-W-L
Sacramento Republic: 7 points (2-2-1), 5th place in Pacific Division; Goal Difference: +1; Last five games: D-L-L-W-W
How to Watch Sacramento Republic vs. Orange County SC: The game is scheduled to kick off at 8 pm PT at Heart Health Park in Sacramento on Saturday. You can watch this game on ESPN+ throughout the United States.
