Orange County SC are back in action, this time for a midweek clash, when they host San Diego Loyal for the teams’ first meeting of the season.
OCSC are coming off their second win of the season on Saturday, at Sacramento Republic. In four games they have two wins, both against Sacramento. Time to branch out, since they’ll only play them twice more in the regular season.
San Diego have started the season slow, meanwhile, but have picked it up the last two games, beating Las Vegas Lights at home before posting a credible draw against Phoenix Rising at the weekend. Have they turned a corner, or are they still a team that is trying to figure things out?
Orange County will hope they have figured some things out themselves, and if they can get a victory here, they’ll vault up the standings in the Pacific Division and this game in hand will pay off. If they don’t, then it will be another setback early in the season. This should be a good game and a good test for both teams.
Tale of the Tape:
Orange County SC: 6 points (2-2-0), 5th place in Pacific Division; Goal Difference: +1; Last four games: W-L-W-L
San Diego Loyal: 4 points (1-4-0), 7th place in Pacific Division; Goal Difference: -6; Last five games: D-W-L-L-L
How to Watch Orange County SC vs. San Diego Loyal: The game is scheduled to kick off at 7 pm PT at Championship Soccer Stadium in Irvine on Wednesday. You can watch this game on ESPN+ throughout the United States.
