LAFC’s Vela, Rossi, Atuesta and Murillo selected to 2021 MLS All-Star Team

Black-and-gold to be well-represented at hometown event.

LAFC announced on Wednesday that four players at the club — midfielder Eduard Atuesta, defender Jesus David Murillo, and forwards Diego Rossi and Carlos Vela — have been named to the 2021 MLS All-Star Team, for the 2021 MLS All-Star Game on Aug. 25 at The Banc.

Vela was voted in from the fan and media votes and is making his third All-Star Team, while the other three players were selected by MLS All-Stars head coach Bob Bradley, who of course also happens to be LAFC’s head coach. Rossi has received his second All-Star selection, while this is the first All-Star picks for Atuesta and Murillo.

The MLS All-Stars will take on a team of Liga MX All-Stars in the 2021 All-Star Game, a first-time occurrence in the history of the MLS All-Star Game.

I’m not at all surprised that LAFC will be well represented on the All-Star Team, not only because the team is one of the most talented in the league, but also because they are hosting the shindig. Congrats to all four players on their selections, and please come back from your All-Star exploits healthy!
